Here's a great example of an oxymoron. The invention of these colorful white board markers has changed education and business. Yet, the scent they exude is atrocious. When will Mr. Sketch come out with white board markers? Or have they....????
Over the weekend, we went to Supercross up in San Francisco. One of my favorite riders is Kevin Windham. He was one of the few riders tripling this jump in the mud. Basically, he's great looking and talented. What more can I say?
I've recently had an epiphany...to get rid of stuff that I haven't used in a while. I'm still going through therapy on actually being able to release this endless amounts of stuff I possess. This, for example, is my bookshelf at work. No wonder I can never find the book I'm looking for...
Believe it or not, this was a busy tourist-y day in Monterey. I just happened to get this photo with no one around. The weather was gorgeous, too. Monterey didn't get any rain until about 5 o'clock that evening, while we heard it rained all day up in the Bay Area. Emma just looked so innocent in this photo. I must say, it was a rare event. She was really taking things in that day.

Okay, so it's not the best photo, but I couldn't resist. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium yesterday to treat my bother and his family with our guest passes. We were fascinated by this giant bait ball of fish. The question came up, "I wonder how many of those are actually eaten?" Someday, I'll ask a naturalist there.
It's a new year, and yet again I'm trying to de-clutter. I try this every year, but the reality hit again. Before I went to bed last night, I went to set my phone on my dresser because that's what I use for my alarm in the morning. I barely found a spot for it.
As I was digging through the thousands of weeds we have overtaking our front yard, I found this lone little guy reaching for the heavens above for the smallest inkling of sunlight. I'm really looking forward to seeing if his the rest of his family will come out in Spring.
There's just something about super salty pistachios that makes my mouth water. A friend of mine had bought some for her husband for Christmas, and we ended up eating almost half of his stash. That got me heading out to Trader Joes for my own. It must be karma because my kids have taken possession of them.
I got this garden ornament from a girlfriend of mine for Christmas. She works for a nursery that usually carries really cute stuff. As I was getting the kids out the door for school (15 minutes, I should add), I saw the rain drops covering her and it looked neat.
Do you ever wonder about those poor pumpkins that have performed their life task only to be shamelessly dumped in the garbage or in a field somewhere? I was doing some yard work yesterday during a brief break from this rainy weather, and found these little guys on the side yard. In years past, we've placed the uncarved pumpkins in our backyard only to watch them slowly rot away. I'm not sure why I keep them, maybe because I don't have the heart to throw them away. It looks like we'll be waiting for this batch to let nature do its thing on them.
Now that the holidays are finally behind us, I can finally observe things other than red and green. I was painting this cute wooden hairclip holder for my daughter's room and really like the way the paint buckets looked, especially with the little dribbles of paint.
This photo was taken back in 2001 while we were on our honeymoon in Italy. It was taken from the center of a courtyard looking up at the tower. I thought it was cool.
As you can clearly see, I haven't spent much time posting onto this site. I have an alternate site that I've been posting to the past 2 years. You can check that one out here .
A lot has happened in our lives. Connor is now five, and Emma will be three is April. Life's been a roller coaster, and motherhood rocks! Check out our other blog to re-live the past couple of years in our lives.
